Waypoint Recovery Center

A Personalized Approach to Addiction Treatment

Addiction affects far more than just physical health. It impacts emotional well-being, mental health, relationships, work, and overall quality of life. At Waypoint Recovery Center, treatment is built around a personalized, whole-person approach that recognizes recovery as a process of healing every aspect of a person’s life—not just addressing substance use alone.

By combining evidence-backed clinical treatment with holistic therapies and individualized care plans, Waypoint Recovery helps people build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

Built Around the Individual

Personalized care helps ensure treatment remains focused on each client’s needs, goals, and continued growth throughout recovery.

What Makes Us Different

Treatment Approaches at Waypoint

Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all program, Waypoint Recovery Center creates individualized treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs, history, and recovery goals.

Our highly personalized plans are designed to address:

By looking at the bigger picture of a person’s life and connecting all individual elements together, Waypoint helps clients build a framework for meaningful, sustainable change.

Clinical Excellence

Evidence-Based Clinical Therapies

A person holding a pen and clipboard speaks to another person who sits with hands clasped under their chin, suggesting a counseling or therapy session in a relaxed indoor setting.
Evidence-based therapies offered at Waypoint Recovery may include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Helps clients recognize how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence substance use. By learning to identify unhealthy patterns, they develop healthier ways to respond to challenges and stress.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Teaches clients practical skills for managing difficult emotions, handling stressful situations, and building healthier relationships. It can be especially helpful for people who struggle with strong emotional reactions or impulsive behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Explores a client's reasoning for change while strengthening their commitment to recovery. Rather than telling someone what to do, therapists help them discover their own motivation for making positive changes.

Trauma-focused Therapy

Helps clients process and heal from the emotional and psychological effects of traumatic experiences. It provides a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore how trauma has affected their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while developing healthy coping strategies.

Building Skills, Connection, and Confidence in Recovery

Individual and Group Counseling Services

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy provides one-on-one time between clients and a counselor to discuss personal challenges, recovery goals, and progress in treatment.

Process Group Therapy

Process groups bring clients together in a supportive setting where they can share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from others in recovery.

Family Therapy

Family therapy helps loved ones better understand addiction while improving communication, trust, and support within the family system.

12-Step Group Facilitation

Introduces clients to the principles and support networks found in programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Voluntary Admission, Active Participation

Admission to Waypoint is voluntary, but once admitted, clients are expected to actively participate in their treatment program.

Supporting Recovery Through Whole-Person Healing

Experiential and Holistic Therapies

Experiential and holistic therapies complement traditional clinical care by giving clients additional ways to explore emotions, build healthy coping skills, and support overall well-being. These approaches encourage healing through movement, creativity, mindfulness, nature, and meaningful experiences.

Outdoor Therapy

Connects clients to nature by using nature-based activities and experiences to promote healing, personal growth, and overall well-being during recovery.

Recreational and Wellness Activities

These various assortment of activities encourage physical health, recreation, and healthy routines that support overall recovery and quality of life.

Creative and Expressive Therapies

Includes therapeutic activities such as art, writing, or other forms of self-expression to help individuals explore their thoughts and emotions.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Helps clients focus on the present moment, increase self-awareness, and develop healthier responses to stress.

Medication Support for Recovery

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and other behavioral therapies to support recovery from opioid and alcohol use disorders.

MAT can help clients by reducing cravings and helping manage often intense and prolonged withdrawal symptoms

In some cases, MAT can offer greater stability during the early recovery process, which can lead to the following benefits:
Considerations for MAT are determined on a client by client basis, and is generally recommended after careful consideration of recovery goals, past history, substance history and client willingness. MAT is never offered as a fix-all solution to alcohol or opioid use disorders.
